Prepare to act when someone is experiencing financial distress. Using Motivational Interviewing techniques, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) tools, and Service Learning reflection after practice with real people you will: 1. Engage others in financial conversations that encourage them to progress towards financial wellbeing 2. Review credit reports and learn strategies to establish credit and improve credit scores 3. Identify personal values related to finances, and check how spending matches those values 4. Prioritize bill payments when the money can't cover the bills 5. Connect to resources and experts for additional help. This training is based on research and contributes to research. No prior training is needed -- just curiosity and a willingness to help others when needed.
